Privacy notice

Last updated: · version 1.0

This notice sets out what data is collected when you make contact through this site, why, for how long, and what you can do if you would like any of it removed. It is written in plain language rather than legal prose; if anything here is unclear, please write and we can clarify it together.

Who is this service intended for?

This enquiry form and the related counselling are intended for those aged 16 and over (GDPR Art. 8; Hungarian Information Act §6). If you are under 16, please speak with a parent or guardian before getting in touch; in some cases their consent is required.

What is collected through the form?

Only what is needed to make contact:

Symptoms, diagnoses, medication and other health-related details are not requested on the form. These belong in the face-to-face conversation, and under Article 9 of the GDPR such sensitive data must not be collected over the internet.

Why is this data collected?

For one purpose only: so that your enquiry can be answered and an initial consultation can be arranged. Your data is not used for marketing, no newsletter is sent, and it is not shared with any third party other than the form-relay service (see below).

The legal basis is consent under Article 6(1)(a) of the GDPR, given by submitting the form, and withdrawable at any time.

How long is the data kept?

Your message is held in the email inbox until the enquiry is concluded. If we decide to begin work together, the data then moves, after the initial consultation, into a separate therapeutic framework, with its own privacy notice.

If you decide not to continue, your message is deleted within 6 months at the latest, or sooner, on request.

Where does the data go?

When the form is submitted, the data goes to two places:

  1. To my email inbox. This is the primary location where your message arrives.
  2. To Web3Forms, the third-party service that handles form relaying ( web3forms.com (opens in a new tab) ), based in the United States. According to its own privacy policy, the service generally stores submitted messages for no more than 30 days. The details of this transfer, including the service's data-protection agreement and the post-Schrems II transfer mechanisms, can be read in Web3Forms' own privacy notice.

Beyond this, traffic on the site is not tracked with analytics tools (no Google Analytics, no Meta Pixel), and the domain does not set cookies in your browser.

Online sessions and confidentiality

Sessions take place online, by video call. The video platform to be used is agreed together before the initial consultation, taking both data-protection and technical considerations into account.

The scope of confidentiality and its exceptions (for example immediate risk to life, or a legal obligation) is clarified at the initial consultation.

What are your rights?

Under the GDPR, at any time you may:

To exercise any of these rights, simply send a message; a reply will follow within one month under Article 12(3) of the GDPR (in particularly complex cases this may be extended by up to a further two months, with prior notice).

Supervisory authority (NAIH)

Under Article 77 of the GDPR you may lodge a complaint directly with the Hungarian data-protection authority at any time; there is no need to come to me first. That said, hearing about any concern is welcome, so that it can be put right together.
