Difficulty in a relationship
Difficulty in a relationship can take many shapes: recurring conflict, the loss of closeness, diverging directions in life, blocked communication. Sometimes both partners feel it; sometimes only one — which can make it even harder to put into shared words.
Psychological consultation offers a space in which this can be examined together, or individually, with care for the dynamics of the relationship and without judgement.
What this looks like in practice
Couples' work usually goes best when both partners are open to it. At the initial consultation (70 minutes) we look at the context of the relationship, the difficulty most present now, and how I might be of help. If your partner does not yet wish to attend, individual sessions are also a possibility — from your point of view.
Continuing work tends to take the form of couples' or individual sessions, weekly or fortnightly, for as long as that holds value.
Let's talk about it
At the initial consultation we look together at where you are in the process, and whether this is the right place to find help.
